What are you thoughts on a dog being a little over weight?

Almost any dog will beg and will eat as much as you will give. The worst thing you can do to your dog is overfeed. Obesity in dogs is just as bad as for humans, causing joint problems, diabetes, weakening the immune system, overworking the heart etc. You are not doing your dog any favors by overfeeding. He just wants attention, play with him instead. Better he is a little underweight than overweight.
